Visit Cade’s Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains

Perhaps one of the best places to see the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains and historic Tennessee at the same time would be in Cade's Cove, TN. This amazingly beautiful National Park enables the entire family to see the beautiful Smoky Mountains, plenty of wildlife, and historic buildings, too.

Cade's Cove offers an 11-mile one way scenic drive through the Park with various places to stop and gaze at the beauty. Families will often see many deer, black bear, racoons, and other wildlife on the drive.

Also on the drive, visitors will be able to see several of the original homes of the earliest settlers in the region. Three churches can also be seen and each building walked through and photographed.

About half way around the Park, visitors can stop and see the gift shop. Restrooms are available. Just a few yards away, there is the Cable Mill and a mill flume, a sorghum mill where sometimes corn meal and molasses are available, a cantilever barn, and a blacksmith shop.

Special bike and hiking tours take place from May through September on Wednesdays. Tours run from sunup until 10 AM and the road is closed to all car traffic during that time.

Many other activities are also available for the whole family. Camping, fishing, horseback riding, and much more is available at Cade's Cove, TN.
