The Best Roads To Drive By This Summer

If you're going out on a road trip, try passing by the following highways with their majestic views all over the country.

Acadia Byway, Maine

Drive by these 40 miles found in Acadia National Park and see Bar Harbor found on Mount Desert Island. Lots of rocky shores, beautiful lakes and hill forests abound. You might also want to try stopping and sailing for a nice relaxing time.

Great Rivers Scenic Route, Illinois

Go 57 miles through the Midwest and you are in America's heartland. Enjoy the view as you travel by small towns, farmland, fruit orchards and forests. Make sure you also see where the Missouri, Mississippi and Illinois rivers meet. There are plenty of hiking trails too!

Route 706, Washington

Be sure you have at least two and a half hours to take in the beauty of 93 miles that include Mount Rainier National Park and allows multiple views of the 14,411-foot peak. Closer to Interstate 5 is the Nisqually Entrance on the west side. Stop by Longmire and visit its settler and Native American museum. Try to see also some of the most relaxing mineral hot springs, the 168-foot Narada Falls, the Paradise Inn and lots of camping areas.

Skyline Drive, Virginia

Start at Shenandoah National Park and enjoy the view of 70 scenic outlooks, hiking trails and forested valleys. All these beautiful spots are spread over 105 miles passing through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Don't rush, make sure you have at least three hours to enjoy the ride.

Overseas Highway, Florida

Go from Key Largo to Key West in Florida and drive through 127 miles of island communities. Stop by Islamorado, Big Pine Key and Cudjoe Key. Have a fantastic view of the ocean on both sides of the road!
